Here are some questions and answers about Imako® Cosmetic Shell for Teeth
I was unable to get a good fit. If you could not get the Imako Cosmetic Teeth to fit, there are two main reasons:
1) you did not press them firmly against your teeth while the fitting layer was melted..
2) you moved them around after pressing and did not get a clear imprint.
The good thing is, you can try again.
I DID'NT SEE ANYTHING THAT EXPLAINED HOW THEY STAY ON; GLUE,DENTURE CREAM? I COULD NOT FIGURE IT OUT. PLEASE HELP!! The way they fit is a mechanical function. By having the imprint of your teeth on the inside, they are able to grip because of matching surfaces. If the device was absolutely rigid, it couldn't be removed after fitting, and it couldn't be put back on if it was removed. But, it is flexible and simply clips into place.

How long do they last? The product can last for 2 years or more if used only for special occasions. Some people who depend heavily on Imako® Cosmetic Teeth will have to replace them as often as every two months. It is not known if personal habits contribute to frequent replacements.

I broke two teeth off of my 5-tooth bridge and will not be able to get the bridge replaced until December. Would I be able to wear this product over my existing broken bridge? Yes. You should take the precaution of applying a thin coat ofvegetable oil to the surface before fitting, as there is a small chance it could stick (only temporarily while still warm) to your bridge work.

I know you can't eat while using cosmetic teef, but can you kiss with them in? or will they pop out? You will have to be the judge of that! If you are deep French kissing, a very embarrassing event could occur. A little nuzzling or smooching would probably be OK, so you could declare "No tongue" beforehand.

I had a "gap" in the front, of my bottom teeth. I formed a plug with the extra material that came with "teef" Now,I am about to order another set-this time natural, not bleached, and I think that will be even better. Would it be possible to purchase, some of that extra material?
Small packets of extra fitting material are $3 each plus postage, available by calling us at 800-925-2855. You can order gum color, bleached or normal.

Sorry but it will not work. For your own health, you should have that last tooth removed and go for dentures. Being able to chew food and mix saliva into it is an essential step in digestion, and one of life's best pleasures.
Will these teeth work if you only have 1 tooth left on the top on the side.
Please help.

As long as you don't have an underbite (where lower teeth are forward of upper teeth), then you can fit our Imako product where they hang lower than your own teeth. I have seen this make a fantastic improvement on people who don't have enough length between the bottom of the nose and the bottom of the upper teeth.
Hi, I was wondering I have nice teeth, but my jawline is messed up,so you can't really see my top teeth unless, you really stare.Would this help you be able to see my teeth at all?

The Imako Cosmetic Teeth don't have enough shading between them. Anything I can do? For those who have some artistic talent, you can enhance the Imako shell to look more realistic. Purchase a detail brush and some blue-gray Testors® paint soluble with acetone. You will also need some acetone and clear nail polish. Take a tiny dab of paint and thin down generously with acetone, then take a dab of this mixture and thin down some more with acetone, until you have a solution with barely any pigment. Add a drop or two of clear fingernail polish and paint between the 'teef' with this. Practice first on back teeth. You can always add another layer but you will ruin the Imako surface if you have to wipe away any paint with acetone. I recommend coating the entire surface with clear polish afterwards.

Imako can even cover 4 missing front teeth!
Can Imako cover up two missing front teeth?

Is the front silicone surface easily scratched? The front surface is not silicone, it is elastomer, a mixture of plastic and rubber. It is strong stuff, but can be stained.

How long will Imako® last? This being a new product, honestly I don't know. With reasonable care, a couple of years, maybe more. A lot depends upon the habits of the user.

How about a product for the lower teeth? Lower teeth usually fit within the upper teeth, and it is impossible to cover the lower teeth without interfering with your ability to close your bite.

Is there an odor problem with Imako like denture wearers have? We recommend daily cleaning by wiping with rubbing or denatured alcohol, then soaking weekly in sodium percarbonate (a non chlorine bleach) and water then thoroughly rinsing.

You can take off and put on Imako 600 times a day, never having to use adhesives. They just mold to your real teeth, and are flexible. You can even push them off with your lower teeth or tongue. Yet they are reliable enough that you could holler for your favorite team and they would stay on.
Can the teeth be removed any time you want..3 or 4 times a day if necessary. ..and is it easy to do so?

Being a mass market product, it is never going to look as real or as good as what a dentist can do. To hide the little fang, the whole device has to fit lower and might look funny. With crooked teeth, any teeth that are projecting forward will distort the curvature or require lots of extra fitting material to smooth out the curve. This could result in in looking funny as well. A little bit of crookedness is no problem, but if you have a tooth completely in front of the rest of the pack, this probably would not be your solution.
I am a 27 year old with crooked teeth, I have a nice smile but would like to have a more even one without the price of cosmetic dental work.i have thought of braces, but the exspense is to much for the budget... I have looked at all your before and after photos and there no one there with similar teeth.i have a fang that protrudes a little more than the rest of my front teeth and want to know if these teef would work.i still have all my teeth and just want a little more even look.

Are there any dangers to wearing them? There are no known dangers, or anticipated dangers. With other devices like dentures, that use adhesives, there is no saliva bathing the gum tissue while wearing the dentures. Imako allows cleansing saliva to circulate between itself and your gums. If you developed a tender spot, you could simply reconfigure the fitting plastic so that it did not touch that area. Since our customers will remove Imako to eat, we don't anticipate that anyone would wear the device more than 4 or 5 hours at a stretch, maximum.

That clicking is caused by dentures slipping out of place. You will never have that problem with Imako. If the fit is wrong, you are in control and you can easily fix it!
When you speak with them on, do you have any annoying clicking like some people with dentures?

They can be fitted lower to compensate. It might look goofy, and it might look good, I cannot predict. It depends on whether you would look better with longer front teeth.
Hi. I was just wondering if you could wear Imako cosmetic teeth even if your canines stick out a little bit futher than they should.

The underbite could present a big problem, because the wayward teeth will knock the device out of position. If you close your bite (in it's most comfortable position) several times while fitting, and keep it closed while letting the fitting material set up, the Imako teef should compensate if the underbite is not too serious.
What about if you have an underbite?

Yes. Actually receeding gums will give the Imako shell more surface and shape to lock onto. The biggest problem fitting Imako is presented by folks who have a lot of plaque which tends to collect in the crevices, and gives the Imako no definite shapes to form around.
I have receeding gums. Can Imako be fitted?

This should not be a problem. For extra security you can make a thin custom molded extension of fitting plastic that connects to the back of the Imako shell and goes along the outside surface of your back molars, and wraps around the last one, like a hook.
I am an actor and would be using the cosmetic teeth on set. Would heavy kissing be a problem?

The Imako shell is not strong enough to bite through food. Obviously my product is not the ideal situation, but there are people who can't afford dental care, or have health problems that dentistry cannot address. Just being able to look decent can be a godsend.
What good are these things if you can't eat with them?

Hi i need dentures on top and bottom. For a full set i had to have all of my teeth pulled due to gum disease. They were pulled out on september 6 2001 and i am trying to save the money to get me some teeth and find out how much they would cost me. You are better off saving for the dentures. You need them to chew food, which is crucial to your health. You can't chew with our product, and our product only works on the uppers.

i have real crooked teeth and i would love to have a better smile i was looking at your imanko but i didnt see anything for crooked teeth only missing please help. The Imako shell can easily hide crooked teeth. You would have to fuse a bit of extra thermoplastic fitting material to compensate for recessed areas. If you have a tooth or two that are completely out in front of the pack, this might require so much extra fitting material that the result a pronounced overbite, looking ridiculous.

I have a quick question....I just bought my teef and got them last night.....when I fit them, it makes my lip stick out a bit too much where it is noticable.....how can I avoid this? Am I fitting them wrong? Have you squished the teef as close as possible? All the fitting plastic should be pushed away from areas where your teeth are prominent.

I encourage anybody to choose real dental care over relying on my product. In fact, it is my intention that people would decide to see a dentist after seeing what a difference in appearance nice looking teeth will make.

You are perfectly welcome to return the product, but I suggest you could save some money during your treatment by using the Imako shell instead of having temporary teeth, which can each cost over $200.
The bleached teeth I received are entirely too big for my teeh structure. I was hoping this would work but it looks like I will have to go with cosmetic surgery. I would like a refund on the bleached teeth.
